Even though it isn't the last Sunday of February, I couldn't wait to share with you the things I've been enjoying recently. Likewise, it has been forever since I've done a Favorites post, so I put together a few things I've been loving recently to share with you.
Recently, I ran out of eos lip balm and ran to pick up another, and this time I purchased the Blackberry Nectar. The reason it has stripes is because it is part of the Visibly Soft collection, and I noticed that the balm goes on thicker when applied, which I enjoyed a lot more than the slightly thin coverage on the other lip balms. Also, I love blackberries, and right now they are not in season, so it gives me a hint of the summer fruit that I love.
Like the eos, I recently ran out of my favorite body wash from Bath & Body Works, and this time I wanted to try something a little more natural. At Target, I picked up this Shea Moisture Olive and Green Tea Body Wash. I was unsure of the difference it would make, but I my skin felt softer after just a week. And through the winter months, my skin been less dry than usual, which prevents me from lathering 3 coats of lotion every day. I am one of those people who hates the feeling of dry skin, and if you have irritability like me in the winter, than this is perfect for you. Although, the main ingredient in this is coconut, so if you have allergies this might not be the best choice.
A few weeks ago I had a family member visiting London, and of course I had to ask for them to bring me back some chocolate. I love Cadbury, and my favorite sweets they make are the miniature eggs during Easter (anyone else love these?) Anyways, they picked me up a box of Heroes which is basically a bunch of their kinds of chocolates in little miniature versions. For me, this was very exciting, and I absolutely love every chocolate that came with it. If you live somewhere where you have regular access to these, it is probably not as thrilling, but I totally recommend trying them.
Someone gave me the coloring book, Secret Garden, over Christmas, and since then I've been coloring more than I ever thought I would. If you haven't colored since you were little and don't think it is your thing, trust me, it is. I find coloring a little bit every night is extremely relaxing, and actually helps me fall asleep faster. Therefore, if you are trying to get away from the daily stress of life, this is a great way to put everything else aside, and just focus on coloring in between the lines.
First and foremost, who doesn't love a yummy chocolate covered pretzel? It is the perfect combination of sweet and salty. Well, picture that yummy goodness and add in peanuts, almonds, salt and crumbled crumbled chocolate cookies. That is what you're biting into when you eat this cowboy bark. Basically, it is the perfect snack to meet your sweet cravings. Enough said.
I hope you enjoyed my February favorites! I find it funny how 2 out of the 5 were chocolate. Don't forget to let me know in the comments what you have been enjoying this month, and if you have anything in common with mine. Enjoy your week!
It's already November, even though it feels like it was September yesterday. Every year, fall time passes by so quickly. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who has already seen a Christmas commercial! Anyways, the beginning of November comes the end of October, which means another favorites post. This post is filled with all things sweet, and will give you one last glimpse of the past month.
As October hits, I become very sad because all of the summer fruits start to go out of season. Melons and berries are still in most supermarkets, but they don't taste as sweet or fresh. The good news is, some other great flavors come into view. Pomegranate is my favorite fall time fruit, and I've been having a ton of it this month. Pommelo, a type of grapefruit, is also in season, and combined with pomegranate creates the best fruit salad.
Candy Corn is not only a cute decoration, but it tastes amazing. I love having on the counter as a grab and go snack. You can place it in a festive dish and it looks adorable. The pumpkin shaped ones are my favorite, which is why they are all gone from the dish. I also love anything flavored pumpkin, so I ate a lot of pumpkin treats this month. The pumpkin loaf is from Costco, but I also made delicious muffins this month from DamnDelicious, and I totally recommend trying it out. Lastly, buying pumpkin seeds or making your own is a great healthy snack for fall. Today I cooked the ones from pumpkin carving, and they taste delicious.
Here is the pumpkin I carved for Halloween last night. It is a little sloppy because I was in a hurry, but it looked very spooky when lit up. Pumpkin picking and carving is something my family does every year as tradition, and it always makes me very happy. If you are looking for something fun to do in the fall, this is a great activity with friends and family. You can even have a friendly competition to make/pick the best pumpkin.
Trick or Treat
Lastly, trick or treating is a great fall tradition that I take part of every year. Whether it is going out door-to-door with friends, visiting a party, or handing out candy to children, Halloween makes my favorites every year. In the picture are my 3 favorite types of Halloween candy and a little hint to what my costume was this year. See if you can figure out what I was, and comment down below your guess.
In conclusion, October is one of my favorite months in the year, and I am very sad its over, but I am also looking forward to November. This month brings Thanksgiving, more fall fun, and lots of festivities. Comment below your favorite candy and what you are looking forward to in November. I hope you are enjoyed October and liked looking back with my post. Have a great day!
My favorite products from September have been revealed! These are the products I used most this month, and will probably continue using into October.
I've heard many, many times how bad it is to use a hairbrush on wet hair, but never considered getting a comb. Recently, when purchasing a new hairbrush, I picked this up too. It is very large and the bristles are far apart, making it the ideal wide-tooth comb. Since then, I have been using this instead of a hairbrush after showers, and a lot less hair is coming out. The comb acts very gently on your hair, and brushes it just the right amount to de-tangle it, but not over brush. I highly recommend getting one if you want thicker hair.
Not long ago I took a trip to my local bareMinerals and purchased a mineral foundation, blush, brush, and mascara. As above, you can see that my foundation color is "fairly light". The brush is the flawless face brush, and it is great for light to medium application. I just wanted my skin tone to look more balanced, and this is very natural. Otherwise, it is a great foundation and works to my needs. I enjoy that the brand is more environmental than others, which is great for those with sensitive skin. For any of you who have tried the mascara, let me know your experience down in the comments. It has been annoying my eyes, and I wanted to know if there is any all natural mascaras I could switch to.
First of all, I know it is a little bit early to put pumpkin things in my September favorites, but I have been using this soap since early September. (I know, I'm getting ahead of myself). It is from Bath & Bodywork's and it is quite a sweet scent. Usually, I find scents like this almost sickly, but the soap form smells amazing. I love having my hands smelling slightly like pumpkin. It makes fall even more special because of this lovely sent. Plus, the picture makes me want to make cupcakes.
The 5th Wave
I am not always a alien, science-fiction person, but this book is amazing. Despite not being the newest book, the movie is coming to theaters in January 2016. Most of my book incentive comes from trailers of to-be movies. I always find that its more fun to see a based-on-book movie if you've read the book. So far, the book is mainly about a girl named Casandra, and her experiences during an alien invasion. Although, there are some sections in other characters points of view.
The Good Bean
My last favorite from the month of September are these chocolate chickpeas. I know that probably sounds crazy, but they're amazing. Great for those who love a crunchy snack, but a lot healthier. It kinda reminded me of corn-nuts. I picked out the weirdest flavor, because I wanted to see if chocolate and chickpeas were a good combination, Turns out, they are. I found these at Whole Foods in the nut/dried fruit area.
That's it for my September favorites! Let me know in the comments below if any of these were your favorites too. Also let me know what your favorites for the month of September were. And lastly, what are you looking forward to in October? Thank you so much for reading and have a fabulous start to the month!
