Recipes Galore and a Concert

Note : Before I begin explaining my day yesterday, I would just like to note that this post will not have any pictures because I am still in search for my camera.

What's the most important meal of the day? Breakfast is always the correct answer. So today I picked out one of my absolute favorite recipes from the Clinton St. Baking Cookbook. Banana Chocolate-Chunk muffins are the best tasting breakfast treat you will ever find. It is the kind of recipe that you cannot mess up, it always comes out tasting amazing. The banana flavor and gooey, melted chocolate chips seem to make my day. I'm afraid I cannot share the recipe with you due to copyright reasons, but if you would like to check out the book click the link here:

After I sacrificed the hopes for a perfect body by eating two big muffins, I went out grocery shopping at Trader Joes. This was when I noticed a Crumbs shop nearby. If you don't already know,  Crumbs is a cupcake chain founded in New York. I had seen a few people come out carrying beautiful looking cupcakes, so I had to give it a try. Overall, the shop was cute and the cupcakes looked amazing, so I picked out a Cannoli flavor and Chocolate Salted Caramel flavor. I have to say, I was very disappointed. Despite the fact that the size was above average and that there was a lot more cake than frosting, it was way to sweet and tasted almost stale. All in all, I would not go back to that store again

After I arrived home, I looked up a recipe on the Chew I had seen the other day. The Chew is a cooking/news type show on ABC. The recipe was from an episode where 3 kids made food for picnics and the winners' recipe looked so delicious that I had to try it. The link to the recipe is here:

The recipe is entitled "Perfect Picnic Pockets", and they sure did live up to the name. It is a perfect recipe to make if you want something nice for lunch, but don't want to get the kitchen dirty. They are super simple to make, and it only took about 20 minutes for them to come out of the oven, cooked to perfection. The combination of sweet in savory together calms your sweet craving, but it still feels like lunch. At any rate, they are definitely a must-make for your summer.
Since it was my dad's birthday, we headed into New York City and visited one of his favorite restaurants, Ravagh Persian Grill. The restaurant setting was nice, and the food was amazing. I ordered the Koobideh Kabob, which was excellent. The overall marination and grill techniques used in this restaurant really bring out the flavors of the meat.
To end the day, we headed over to Madison Square Garden to see a U2 concert, one of my parents favorite bands. We were seated in section 305, which was a little unusual. There was no view of the front stage at all, because of the big screens and speakers in the center. Until the band came out to the center circle, I felt a little disjointed from the concert. It was kind of like watching one live on TV, not live in real life. Once we had an view of the members, the concert picked up and we enjoyed ourselves more. If you are wishing to see someone at Madison Square Garden, I do not recommend the area we were seated in. The best possible seats looked like the sides or bottom of the stadium.

I hope you enjoy this first blog post! Please comment any post recommendations below and tell me if you want any more posts about my day!
