If there is one thing I wear an excessive amount in the summer months, it's floral. Whether on pants, shirts, skirts, dresses, or socks, I have a floral item of it in my closet. Once I get over my fear of bees thinking that I am a garden, I can be found wearing floral the majority of the week in summer. The versatility in colors, items, and material make it a very flattering pattern to wear. Below, I will show you three of my favorite ways to way floral in the summer.
This pastel wrap skirt is in my favorite shade, purple, and it pairs perfectly with cream or white tops. It is a very loose, flowy, material, and is perfect during hot months. I paired this standout item with a cream tank, my tan platform sandals (which are featured in every one of these outfits) and a jean jacket for layering. Here is where everything is from:
Skirt: Charlotte Russe
Jacket: the Gap
Here is what the outfit looks like without the jacket. As you can see, the outfit still has enough variety of patterns and colors to keep it interesting, but is also easy to layer for different weather.
This floral dress immediately contrasts with the last floral outfits due to its bright pattern. When I saw this dress in the store, the vibrant pattern did not deter me as they usually do, only because of the shape of the dress (I love a good button down) and the floral pattern. The pattern does not make the dress look tropical in any way, but instead adds a delicate touch to something that seems so out there at first. The dress is from Forever 21.
This last outfit features another wrap feature in the form of a top. What I love about this item is how many different ways it can be styled, and also how it can fit many body types because you essentially make the top yourself by wrapping it around your body. I styled mine with a big bow in the front and with a pair of white shorts, along with the same shoes as the two previous outfits. Here is where everything is from:
Top: Charlotte Russe (you'll find that the model styles it with the bow in front, but the description says it ties in the back, so it is really up to you!)
Those were some of my favorite floral outfits to wear this summer. I hope it covered a variety of styles, patterns, colors, and materials for you to find inspiration in what you love wearing in the summer. Although someone might tell you that you have enough of a particular style in your closet (I hear that all the time about floral), prove them wrong by showing the versatility of your favorite pattern, color, etc. Whether it is floral or not, follow your gut when it comes to what you like to wear, and I promise you'll be more confident and comfortable in your everyday life. Have an amazing week!
