Boston

Graced with a four day weekend, I happened to be in Boston, and had an enjoyable time. Therefore, I decided to show you my weekend itinerary, as to help you if you want to visit. Take a peek even if you don't plan on it, because it has some great pictures!

1. Day 1

Wake up was around 9 am at the Westin Copley Place, and took a quick walk over to Thinking Cup, on Newbury street. Breakfast was a small coffee/bakery shop that served hot breakfast sandwiches and pastries. I got a sandwich that was like a healthier, fresher, yummier version of a McMuffin and a chai latte. From there, it is very convenient to walk down Newbury, the famous shopping street in Boston. It has all the fancy stores, along with department stores. From there, I hit Boston Public Garden, which is gorgeous to walk around. Here are some pictures of it on the extremely cold day:

After walking through the park, you hit Charles Street, otherwise known as the old Newbury. Filled with small cute shops with adorable hanging signs, it was hard not to go into everyone of the stores. The ones I did stop in though were Tatte, J.P. Licks, and Beacon Hill Chocolates. I know, I know, they were all food related, but all amazing! Tatte is like the Thinking Cup, except with a wider menu for breakfast. Since I had already eaten, I picked up a few pastries for later, including a pistachio tart, Nutella cookies, and a meringue (all delicious!).

Next, I happened upon J.P. Licks, which I probably wouldn't have entered that early in the morning without a recommendation from my parents. I got the fresh banana flavor in a kiddie cup, because I'm a sucker for anything flavored banana. It was some pretty amazing ice cream. Overall they have some amazing flavor ideas, and I would definitely put it on your list. Next up was Beacon Hill Chocolates, in which I got a few flavored ones for Valentine's Day. My favorites were the lavender, green tea, and bacon flavored chocolates.

After picking up many delectable sweets, I took a trip to the New England Aquarium. Since I hadn't been to one in a while, I thought this one was pretty good. The animals were so cute, especially the penguins. Here is a little montage of my favorite shots.

To finish off the day, I took a 10 minute walk over to Boston Beer Works, a great place for some food on the cheaper side. Plus they had sweet potatoes, my favorite!

Day 2

Since this day happened to be Valentine's Day and a Sunday, practically every single breakfast place was booked. That is why I ended up at the Cheescake Factory for a late breakfast. After, I took a walk across the street to the Boston Public Library, which is similar to the famous one in New York if you've ever been. The inside is a piece of art, with  a grand staircase when you enter, and art covering the walls and ceilings.

The next stop is great if you have young kids: the Museum of Science. The building is filled with interactive exhibits, a perfect activity for keeping a kid occupied, and they learn at the same time. On top of that, there are many free shows throughout the day that are instructed by museum workers. Of you are older, I wouldn't recommend spending the day here, as there are other places to occupy your time.

After spending the afternoon here, I went out to a lovely dinner at Tapeo, a Spanish tapas place. The small plates were lovely, and perfect for people who love snacking and trying everything on the menu. Rice and beans, goat cheese, and cold cuts were among some of the dishes served.

Day 3

Before heading home, I took a breakfast stop at The Friendly Toast, a great breakfast place if you want to try something new. They take regular diner breakfast dishes and change them. For example I had pancakes, but with chocolate chips, peanut butter, and bananas incorporated with them (my three favorite things!).

That was the itinerary from Boston, I hope you found it helpful if you live near there or plan on visiting it soon. How was your weekend? Did you have a long one like I did? Let me know if you've went anywhere recently in the comments below, and other places you would like to see an itinerary for. I hope you have a great rest of the week, and you'll hear from me soon.
xx Hanna
